Thirteen people became victims of the college shooting that took place at a community college in the US State of Oregon. The incident also left twenty injured. The gun was left open by a 20 year old man, and in the course of exchange of bullets between the police authorities and the 20 year old man, the latter died.

The incident took place on the campus of the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, which is about 180 miles south of Portland - the Capital of Oregon.

Post the incident, US President Barack Obama advocated stricter gun control laws after a half dozen previous shooting incidents, expressing grief saying "thoughts and prayers are not enough".

Further, Obama said, "Our thoughts and prayers are not enough. It's not enough. It does not capture the heartache and anger we should feel; it does not prevent this carnage in some other place in America. We can actually do something about it, but were going to have to change our laws... It cannot be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on a gun".

Reflecting on the incident, Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton called for 'sensible' gun law reforms.

"Another devastating shooting. We need sensible gun control measures to save lives, and i will do everything I can to achieve that", she said.
