America's Top 400 Billionaires Have Combined Wealth of $2.34 Trillion

Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft, continues to reign at No 1 in the Forbes 400 list of America's Wealthiest. He tops the list for the 22nd straight year with a net worth of $76 billion. Despite losing $5 billion from 2014, he continues to dominate this prestigious list.

According to the Daily Mail, the Forbes list of the 400 wealthiest Americans have a combined wealth of a staggering $2.3trillion. This whopping figure is said to be up $50 billion from last year. Of the contenders, Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, has emerged as the biggest overall gainer with an addition of $16.5 billion to his amass in a single year. He comes in at the 4th spot with a total of $47 billion.

Bezos along with Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg have entered the top ten list for the very first time. Zuckerberg is at No. 7 with $40 billion. The cost of admission into the 2015 list has itself risen as compared to last year. It was the highest ever at $1.7 billion, up from $1.55 billion in 2014. This number is the highest it has ever been in the 34 years that Forbes has tracked American wealth.

The top 10 of the Forbes 400 list are as follows: No 1. Bill Gates at $76billion, No 2. Warren Buffett at $62billion, No 3. Larry Ellison at $47.5billion, No 4. Jeff Bezos at $47billion, No 5. Charles Koch at $41billion, No 6. David Koch at $41billion, No 7. Mark Zuckerberg at $40.3billion, No 8. Michael Bloomberg at $38.6billion, No 9. Jim Walton at $33.7billion and No 10. Larry Page at $33.3billion.
