A new report is circulating that George R.R. Martin, the author behind "A Song of Ice and Fire," which the HBO TV series, "Games of Thrones" is based on, stated that there is a movie in the works.

"There will be a movie but I will not be involved," Martin, who is working on the sixth book of the series, "Wind of Winter," allegedly said reported by the Daily Star. "I have too much to do. That is something HBO and the DB [Weiss] and David [Benioff] are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don't write faster."

The website also claimed that a production insider stated that the movie will be set in the past when several key characters have not died yet.

"With the Game Of Thrones universe there is much rich material and no constraints on when that story will take place," the source said. "They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one off plot. That means that some of the big characters who fans have seen die on screen could be resurrected such as Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Oberyn Martell The Red Viper - and Ned Stark."

The source continued, "George has written about a raft of other characters in the books, which have been as long as 1,200 pages. Some of those could be used for a completely separate idea and plot. George has created such an expansive universe of characters over 8,000 years of history, the possibilities are endless."

The movie has not been confirmed and the Daily Star article has not been corroborated. The British site, the Independent, reported that HBO said they "aren't able to comment on this at this time."

In the meantime, fans are patiently waiting for "Winds of Winter," which is rumored to be coming out in 2016. News and updates about the book have remained quiet over these past few weeks. Some reports are questioning whether or not the release day will be pushed to late 2016.

Fans were hoping that the book will be released before season six of "Games of Thrones" premieres, which will some time in the spring of next year.
