Tesla, the electric car company of PayPal founder Elon Musk, has ventured into the SUV market with its new Model X, which the company just unveiled.

The Model X boasts a range of 250 miles and is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds according to the company's website. This is made possible by the fact the vehicle's drag coefficient of .24 is roughly 20 percent lower than the next best SUV.

The company just announced that it was taking reservations for its newest model, with expected delivery of the first orders in the second half of 2016.

Its three rows allow it to fit seven people, and the last row can be folded down when not in use. The seats can be ordered in tan, white, or black leather. The company is offering two layouts, one that accommodates six passengers, and the other that fits seven. In the six passenger model, a third seat in the second row is removed.

The SUV is equipped with sensors to allow for collision avoidance and emergency braking, while the location of its battery in the bottom of the car's architecture makes it much less likely to roll over than other SUVs. The car also has a HEPA certified medical grade air filter to clean the air entering the vehicle's cabin of pollutants and allergens.

The Model X's sensor system include camera, radar, and sonar systems that provide live updates to the driver, while emergency braking will kick in even if driving at highway speeds.

Perhaps the most stylish aspect of the new vehicle is its gull wing style doors, evoking a style more typically associated with sports cars like Lamborghini, or the fabled DeLorean from the film Back to the Future.
