Letting Karma decide what you earn will lead to women in the tech industry earn 20 percent less than their male counterparts.

An American Association of University Women study says that  female workers in the computer science field make 77 percent of what their male peers within one  year out  of college. The  American Census data also says  that women make 78 percent of what men do, generally, reports the Washington Post.

A Galssdoor survey of salaries suggests in the Silicon Valley men generally make thousands of dollars more than their female counterparts.  At Google, for instance, a male senior software engineer makes 19 percent more than women engineers .

Generally the discrepancies are found due to the number of years of experience in the same job but that is no so when the genders are exchanged, if the females have more experience the salary differences in the dame position are very negligible.

A major factor to take in to consideration is that women in the work force and especially in certain profiles like engineering and tech is low.

Very few women cross into the high echelons of their chosen career.

Recently, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, raised a storm by  saying that women should not talk about raises but leave it to their 'karma'. He was answering a question at a forum when asked about his opinion on women and salary hikes and how some are reticent about asking for a raise.
