Monica Bellucci has made waves by playing James Bond's latest muse in the upcoming movie 'Spectre, at 50. She recently put things in perspective when she insisted on being called a 'Bond Woman'.

''I can't say I'm a Bond girl because I'm too mature to be a Bond girl. I say Bond lady; Bond woman. But I'm proud to be a Bond lady, because actually, Bond is the most amazing man. You know why? Because he doesn't exist," the actress said, according to Contact Music.

'Bond Girl' is the usual tag given to an actress playing Bond's love interests in the superspy movies. However most Bond actresses have been relatively young women compared to Bellucci.

"Men have the power in everything: journalism, acting, direction; in banks, finances, schools. All the laws are made by men. Men think that women, when they're not able to procreate any more, become old. That is not true - they are still amazing! That's why I think that Sam Mendes in choosing me, an adult woman, created a big revolution," she explained.

It remains to be seen if Bellucci has been stereotyped into a femme fatale, a sacrificial lamb or an assistant, roles that most Bond Girls have played in the past. Spectre releases in November with Daniel Craig reprising his role as Bond.
