Less than a fortnight after its announcement, new reports suggest Pokemon GO is set for 2016 release. Beta testing of the game is expected to begin later this year.

Sources indicate Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon could release in November. It was only on September 10 that senior officials of The Pokemon Company, Niantic, Game Freak Inc and Nintendo officially announced the game.

Headlines and Global News which reported the release date of the new game explained that the game allows players to play in real-world maps. Players can also use an additional device called Pokemon GO Plus, a virtual reality enhancement gadget, which will provide feedback from the game.

"The Pokémon video game series has used real-world locations such as the Hokkaido and Kanto regions of Japan, New York, and Paris as inspiration for the fantasy settings in which its games take place. Now the real world will be the setting!" the company's website explains.

"I have been working on this project for about two years along with Nintendo's Mr. Iwata," said President and CEO of The Pokemon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara, during a press conference on September 10.
