Are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner trying to salvage their marriage?

The couple, who announced that they would be getting a divorce earlier this summer, was seen exiting a doctor's office on Thursday in Los Angeles. The Mirror reported that Affleck, 43, and Garner, 43, attended a two-hour long marriage counseling session, which suggests that they might be trying to save their marriage. Both actors, however, were not wearing their wedding rings.

Ever since Affleck and Garner announced that they were getting a divorce, rumors about the potential causes have circulated throughout the Internet. The main rumor claimed that Affleck had cheated on Garner with their former nanny, Christine Ouzounian. More recent rumors claimed that Ouzounian was planning on selling a tell-all book.

Some of the other rumors stated that Affleck's vices, such as gambling and drinking, got in the way of their nearly 10 year marriage, while others claimed that Garner was too controlling.

Their joint statement read:

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

Affleck and Garner were married in 2005. They have three children together, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
