One salmon spawned on President Obama when he visited Alaska this week to talk about climate change and also reach out to the Alaskans.

During a visit to the fisherman at Kanakanak Beach in Dillingham, Alaska, he wore a pair of orange gloves so that he could examine the fish nets, reported Business Insider.

He picked up a salmon, saying, "That's a nice-looking fish right there."

However, when he held it, it began to squirt a stream of something---its reproductive materials.

"Uh-oh, what's happening there?" he asked.

A woman nearby told him that the salmon was spawning, according to CNN.

Obama called out: "Did you see that? Something got on my shoes. He was spawning a little bit, which, generally you don't want fish spawning on your feet."

He narrated the joke that the woman who had been showing the nets told him: "She said he was happy to see me," he said.

He asked some of his Secret Service agents to give him a knife that could help him fillet the fish. However, they did not have any, according to hngn.
