This is a harrowing tale of cruelty to dogs. On a busy road off Interstate 20 is a huge grave for dogs, which are dumped when they die in the woods off the road. Other dogs are either left there to starve, or are tied up in plastic bags and thrown there to suffocate, reports barkpost.com.

One animal activist is trying to save the injured dogs---28-year-old Ukranian Marina Tarashevska.

So early every morning, Tarashevska drives to Teagarden Road in southeast Dallas, where she parks and then walks to the overgrown drainage ditch off Dowdy Ferry Road. There she sits and searches all the dogs' carcasses. She is also trying to locate a tag or a microchip that can help the cops to nab the perpetrators and also file an animal cruelty case against the owners.

"I know just because I'm out here doesn't mean it's going to stop. But once you know this exists, you have a responsibility to do something about it," said Tarashevska, according to Dallas News.

"The laws need to be enforced to where people can't just get an animal and then throw it away. They shouldn't be able to get away with that without getting into any trouble." said Tarashevska, according to Dallas News.

Sometimes she does find a live dog, and manages to rescue and medicate.

Once she found a starving, thin, emaciated Rottweiler, which was mange-infected. Its eyes and nose were oozing. "This is the most unimaginable cruelty. And it doesn't have to happen," wept Tarashevska.

In order to help create a change in their lives, Tarashevska opened the Dallas Dogrrr-Rescue Rehab Reform website

"I guess they're right, I am crazy. But if people know dogs are starving out in those woods, I think it's crazy I'm the only person out there," added the woman with a drive to save lives.
