"Fifty Shades Darker," the sequel to this year's blockbuster hit romance movie, "Fifty Shades of Grey," will begin filming in February in Vancouver, Canada.

According to On Locations Vacation (via Realty Today), the production crew and cast have booked North Shore Studios for next year. Earlier this summer, there were rumors that production will begin in January. Shortly after these rumors surfaced, new ones started claiming that production has been delayed due to Jamie Dornan.

The report stated that Dornan, who plays billionaire Christian Grey, wanted some time off after he finishes filming for "Anthropoid." Dornan allegedly wanted to spend more time with his wife, Amelia Warner and their baby daughter, Dulcie, before he jumped into another project.

These rumors also claimed that he and Warner are having difficulties with their marriage due to his new, widespread fame that he gained from playing Grey, a sexual dominant who teaches Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) how to become his submissive in the first movie.

Other rumors claimed that Johnson's rumored boyfriend, Matthew Hitt wanted to delay production because he does not like watching Johnson film intimate scenes with Dornan.

With production due to start, it seems like these rumors were all just rumors. The project will most likely be directed by James Foley. Variety reported that Foley, whose most recent work includes Netflix's "House of Cards," is expected to accept Universal Pictures' offer.

The film will need to cast several key roles such as Jack Hyde, Elena Lincoln/ Mrs. Robinson and Leila Williams before production.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 10, 2017.
