Ferguson Police arrested two men in the St. Louis area, Thursday, for allegedly buying explosives to be detonated during protests in Ferguson, Missouri, after the grand jury announces the decision in the Michael Brown case. FBI spokeswoman Rebecca Wu said that the suspects were held on outstanding warrants.

Firearms charges have been imposed upon them as part of the increased law enforcement presence in the town. According to CBS News, court documents state that Brandon Orlando Baldwin and Olajuwon Davis face charges of making false written statement regarding a firearms purchase and in connection with aiding and abetting as well.

Sources told a local newspaper that the two men were members of the New Black Panther Party. The suspects were brought before the federal court Friday.

Post-Dispatch reported that Federal authorities also searched two homes during their investigation. One of the homes was in St. Louis, while the other was in St. Louis County. "The raids yielded information that both men had planned to obtain illegal weapons to do harm to law enforcement and the public," the paper stated, The Huffington Post reports.

The news of the arrests came on the heels of the grand jury's decision on whether the white police officer, who shot an unarmed black teenager to death, should be indicted on criminal charges or not, Reuters reports.

Demonstrations are expected to post the grand jury's decision in the Aug. 9 shooting incident.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon had declared a state of emergency on Monday and activated the national guard to cater to any demonstration in the area. Around 100 FBI agents have been been deployed in the St. Louis area on Friday.
