The latest actress to get linked to the "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise is Alexis Bledel.

According to rumors, Bledel could be casted as Leila Williams in the sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker." The erotica romance movies follow the BDSM relationship between Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). In the books, Williams is a former submissive of Grey who is going through a mental breakdown and needs help.

Bledel has always been a fan favorite for the movies. In 2013, there was a Change.org petition asking the producers to cast Bledel as Steele. After that role went to Johnson, fans are now desperate to see the "Gilmore Girls" alum in the movie as Williams.

"People definitely do have strong opinions about it. I guess when people really identify with a concept, they feel strongly about it," Bledel said in 2012 to Elle about the Steele casting rumors.

The role of Williams was previously linked to "Paper Towns" actress Cara Delevingne.

"Fifty Shades Darker, " which does not have a director yet, also has to fill the roles of Jake Hyde, Steele's boss and Elena Lincoln/Mrs. Robinson, Grey's former dominant. The movie is also rumored to be delayed due to Dornan, who allegedly wants a break after he finishes filming for "Anthropoid."

"Fifty Shades Darker" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 10, 2017, the weekend before Valentine's Day.
