Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Got Married in a Surprise Ceremony
Jennifer Aniston is officially off of the market!
The 46-year-old "Cake" actress and her 43-year-old beau, Justin Theroux got married in a surprise wedding this past Wednesday on Aug. 5. The intimate ceremony took place at the couple's $21 million Bel Air mansion in California.
The couple was able to keep the details of the ceremony a secret by inviting all of their guests to what they believed was going to be a birthday bash for Theroux.
"Guests were told it was a birthday party for Justin. Jen and Justin wanted to surprise guests and guests were certainly surprised," a source told PEOPLE. "Jen has been very good at keeping her wedding planning secret. Only her closest confidants knew that the party was actually a surprise wedding."
TMZ managed to get some snaps of the Muppet-inspired wedding cake as well as the guests as they arrived. The tabloid website also reported, "We're told a giant shed was built over the past week to hide all the furniture and party supplies -- which were set up in the backyard yesterday afternoon. Jen went to great lengths to keep everything under wraps -- we're told staffers' phones were confiscated all week, and no parking was allowed near the property. "
The guest list, according to US Weekly, included Lisa Kudrow, Chelsa Handler, Ellen DeGeneres, Sia, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Lake Bell, Scott Campbell, Howard Stern, Jennifer Meyer and Terry Richardson.
Aniston and Theroux met on the set of the 2008 movie, "Tropic Thunder" but did not start dating until they co-starred in 2012's "Wanderlust." Theroux then popped the question in August 2012.
This is the first marriage for Theroux and the second one for Aniston. Aniston was previously married to Brad Pitt.
