The Daily Show's Jon Stewart confirmed that comedians Amy Schumer, Louis CK and Denis Leary will be joining him in his final week of the show, which he had been hosting for the last 16 years, The Guardian reported.

The finale of the show will air on 6 August and is expected to be 50 minutes long. It is rumored that Stephen Colbert may join Stewart in the show's finale. Colbert was a crew member of the show in the past and he will be hosting Late Night show in September in place of David Letterman.

Stewart, who announced in April that he was to leave the show, said, "We are going to have a ball, and I can't wait to show my appreciation at all the support and enthusiasm that you guys have given the show all these years," when asked about the final week of the show.

In his previous interview with The Guardian, Stewart talked about his reasons for leaving the show. "Honestly, it was a combination of the limitations of my brain and a format that is geared towards following an increasingly redundant process, which is our political process. I was just thinking, 'Are there other ways to skin this cat?' And, beyond that, it would be nice be home when my little elves get home from school, occasionally," he said.

Although Daily Show fans are probably very sad to see their favorite satirist leave the show after 16 years of success, Stewart signals that the final week of the show will be a memorable one.

After Stewart leaves, South African comedian Trevor Noah will be hosting the show, starting on 28 September. Noah has been appearing on the show since the end of last year and Stewart has expressed that he feels at ease knowing the show will be in good hands.
