Android Lollilop Update: Newest Mobile Operating System Doubles in Popularity

A recent Google report indicates that the user base of Android's latest version of mobile operating
system Lollipop version grew by 1.6 percentages to reach 3.3 percentage of the overall Android user
market. The growing popularity of lollipop has led to the release of yet another update for devices that
run on this operating system, and Nexus devices will receive these updates to begin with. Artem
Russakovski, the founder of Android police says, "This update will help Android run Butter Smooth."

Google claimed lollipop as the biggest update that it made to Android so far, with material changes to
the design to make it compatible across multiple devices and deliver a positive user experience. While
on the other hand, many users complained of issues such as fast draining batteries and problems
connecting to Wi-fi. However, Google managed to fix some of these issues, many still persists.

Many handset owners are confused if their handsets would receive these updates. According to
Androidpit.com, The complete range of Google's Nexus handsets has received these updates. Nexus
owners can simply download these updates from the Google Developers site, find their model of Nexus,
and download the relevant updates. Alternatively, these updates are also available for manual
download.

Motorola has a web page dedicated to inform the users whether their handsets will receive an update.
Verizon support ages informed its users that on June 30 the Verizon Moto X (2014) received these
updates. Similarly, early in the month of July soak tests began for Verizon and AT& T devices. Droid
Turbo received update in mid-July.

In June, Samsung's Galaxy models both S6 and S6 Edge received their first updates. These updates
included fixing of some bugs to improvements in consistency, also includes a "Guest Mode." The good
news for Galaxy S6 owners is that this will allow them to take photos in Raw Format with in-depth
editing using. In January, Galaxy A5 and A7 have received these updates.

Most of the LG handsets operate on Android platform, LG G2 has already received this update, and soon
G2 mini may get the update.
