Netflix still has not renewed its sci-fi original series, "Sense8" and now fans are worried that the streaming service will let the show die.

"Sense8," created by Andy and Lana Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski, got off to a very slow start when it was release in June. Reviewers were critical of the storyline and episode structure, complaining that the plot was too confusing to understanding.

Despite the early bad reviews, the show has developed a huge fan base. It has also received a lot of positive reviews by Netflix users and other rating websites. Some reviewers are calling it one of the most progressive shows on TV today. With all of the positive feedback, many expected Netflix to renew the show for season 2. However, weeks have past and fans still do not know if the show will be back.

Straczynski gave fans a bit of hope when he said that he talked with a Netflix representative about how Netflix users were binge-watching season 1. Straczynski added that he expected to hear from Netflix soon.

"Sense8" is show about eight strangers who become connected to one another. The characters, who are from different parts of the world, have been reborn as sensates. They slowly learn that they are linked mentally and physically and can use each other's knowledge and skills. The characters band together when an unknown threat tries to eliminate them.

Straczynski has stated that they have a five-year story arc planned out for the show.

The 12-episode long series was released on June 5.
