When he posed for a selfie, Todd Fassler of San Diego did not fathom he would later have to foot a medical bill exceeding $ 150,000.

According to Tech Times, Fassler posed for a selfie with a rattlesnake early July. The snake bit him and he had to avail emergency medical services costing $ 153,000. Expensive antivenom in the United States caused the bill to swell. Fassler's bill included an $83,000 pharmacy services bill covering antivenom.

Health experts explain that while some victims require as few as three doses others may require more antivenom. In Fassler's case, antivenom supplies of two medical facilities had to be emptied to save him.

"My whole body was shaking and gyrating. The animal literally paralysed my whole body. My tongue was like out of my mouth, my eyes were off to the side," Fassler said according to The Hindu.
