Alicia Silverstone's brother, David Silverstone, was arrested on Tuesday at the Redwood Valley, California for alleged illegal propagation and possession of marijuana for sale.

According to People, the Mendocino County Sheriff had confiscated 181 marijuana plants at Silverstone's farm, about 120 miles north of San Francisco.

Silverstone's arrest is part of the massive California marijuana raid that initially targeted Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl who lives adjacent to David's property, Mail Online reported.

As to whether, David is aware that he lives with Bergdahl who used to be caught up as prisoner by the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2009, Ukiah Sheriff Tom Allman 'can only assume so.' However, the police has not confirmed this yet.

Bergdahl, on the other hand, insisted that he did not use marijuana.

"I didn't smoke any pot," the former military officer told the police.

Despite two felony count charges, the actress' brother was released an hour later after he was jailed on Tuesday. His bail charges is listed at $25,000.

Alicia Silverstone and his brother have been fond supporters of green living and have been actively promoting organic products.

His Facebook page, recently, contains the 'Summer Food jungle' which contains pictures of cakes that contain homegrown berries and wild strawberries.

In 2013, David posted a controversial photo which he captioned "Juice for health. Juice for life." The photo is said to contain marijuana leaves that are minced and turned to juice.

In Mindocino City, some people with a marijuana card, meanwhile, are allowed to grow the plant for medicinal purposes. The number, however, is limited only up to 25 plants.

It is also interesting to note that Alicia Silverstone has been advocating an eco-friendly lifestyle and promoting eco-friendly products in her website "Green Life". She also has a clothing line and a book that talks about organic dieting, New York Daily News said.
