Amidst months of gloom brought on by Bobbi Kristina Brown's failing health, the brown family had some cheer last weekend when it welcomed a baby girl.

Bobby Brown's second wife Alicia Etheredge gave birth Saturday to a healthy baby at Ceders Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, E!News reports. The couple did not opt for knowing the newborn's gender before birth.

Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina from his first wife Whitney Houston is ailing at a hospice. She was moved from an Atlanta hospital after her condition reportedly deteriorated. Some Brown family members caused a furore when one of them allegedly tried to sell photographs of Bobbi Kristina on deathbed. While many media outlets confirmed they were offered the images, none have published them.

Following the incident, the hospice restricted entry to Bobbi Kristina legal caregivers which include her father Bobby, her aunt Pat Houston and grandmother Cissy Houston.

Twenty-two year old Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub at her Georgia home in January. Though she was revived, medics put had to put her in an induced coma to treat her. However despite months of treatment, Bobbi Kristina's condition worsened, forcing the family to move her to hospice.

The police are investigating the incident but have not framed charges. Meanwhile, a lawsuit was filed Bobbi Kristina's long-time boyfriend Nick Gordon by her legal conservator.
