A beauty blogger afflicted by acne put up a powerful video with comments on her blog, describing the impact of social media on people's lives, as well as the staggering standards of beauty that society seems to demand, according to rt.

Em Ford from London, an ex-model who is fighting acne, put up the video on her YouTube blog called My Pale Skin on Wednesday. It has been watched 3.7 million times!

It all started when three months ago, she uploaded her pictures without any make-up. That elicited comments on the images of her face.

"Over the past few months, I've received thousands of messages from people all over the world who suffer or have suffered from acne, an insecurity or self-confidence issues," she wrote under her YouTube video.

The cruelty of commentators was staggering, according to cambio.

At first, she posed without make-up. When that happened, she got a number of comments:

"I can't even look at her," "WTF is wrong with her face?", "Her face is so ugly", "You look disgusting" - these are the comments she saw while posing on photos without any cosmetics.

On the other hand, when she put up her pictures with the make-up, the users began to call her "beautiful," "amazing" and "so perfect." At one point, there were comments, when aggressive bullying started with some posting that her beauty was "false" and "gross."

"Too much make-up," "This is misleading," "You are so ugly. That's why you wear make-up" and "Imagine waking next to her in the morning," the comments read.

Hashtag #youlookdisgusting had already attracted 4,000 retweets on social media, according to topsy.com. Ford added that she wanted to "create a film that showed how the social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men."

Finally, she wrote: "One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we're so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that It can be hard to remember the most important thing - You ARE beautiful."

According to the beauty blogger, everyone is beautiful "no matter how flawed you feel, no matter how upset you may be about the way you look or how hard you find it to make friends."
