British singer is Katie Melua horrified to discover hearing issue caused by spider living in her ear, according to reports.

The singer, 30, had gone to her doctors to complain about a repetitive scratching noise she could hear in her ear that had failed to quieten after a week.

Posting a video of the creature on her Instagram account, Melua wrote: "So I had a rustling in my ear for a week and went to the doctor. This little fella is what they found!"

Melua believes the spider climbed into earbud headphones she had used on a recent flight.

The spider was removed using a micro-vacuum and Melua took it home alive.

A specialist used a micro-vacuum to remove it, alive.

The musician took the spider home in a little jar.

"The ear specialist said he'd never in his career taken out a live bug before. Plenty of dead ones. When it was out, it was pretty tiny," Melua's spokesperson told the BBC. The singer reportedly released the arachnid into her garden.

Melua, 30, is a Georgian-British singer best known for the mid-aughts songs "Nine Million Bicycles" and "The Closest Thing to Crazy." She was - and maybe still is - big in Europe but has never been especially popular in the United States.
