George W. Bush is ranked as more villainous than Joseph Stalin and Genghis Khan, though he is thought of as better than Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden and Adolf Hitler, according to a survey by the Daily Mail.

The poll roped in more than 7,000 college students from 37 countries, including Argentina, Pakistan, South Korea, Italy, and the US, with the students classifying well-known celebrities into heroes and villains. Students ranked Albert Einstein as the Number 1 hero, followed by Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Isaac Newton---all of whom beat Jesus Christ, who was ranked number six, according to addictinginfo. The students had an average age of 23 years.

Here is the list of the top 10 heroes and villains of world history as surveyed by dailymail:

Heroes: Albert Einstein, Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Isaac Newton, Jesus Christ, Nelson Mandela, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Buddha

Villains: Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, George Bush Jr, Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Genghis Khan, Saladin, Qin Shi Huang.

Though the poll was conducted on "educated" members, yet it seemed to be partial towards the western heroes and eastern villains!

Moreover, George W. Bush's villainy is not really more serious than the infamy of Stalin and Genghis Khan, although he still needs to feature in the list. After all, Stalin has murdered tens of millions of his own countrymen, while Genghis Khan decimated 10% of the world's population.

Bush is probably on the top of the charts not due to the number of people he killed, but more because he is hated all over the globe.

The scientists used the Latent Profile Analysis (LPA), in order to pinpoint four 'profiles' among the contributors. Two of the four profiles include 'Religious idealists' and 'Secular Idealists' harboured strongly negative views towards Osama, Saddam, and Hitler, also had positive viewpoints about religious leaders such as Buddha and Jesus.

'Religious Idealists' and 'Political Realists' thought positively of religious leaders. 'Historical Indifferents' did not profess any strong emotions towards any celebrity, except that they disliked George W. Bush.

Hence, the only person whom everyone seems to hate uniformly is Bush!
