Henry Cavill is the latest actor to be linked to the erotic film, "Fifty Shades Darker."

According to the latest rumors, Cavill is being eyed for the role as Jack Hyde, Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) boss in the sequel of "Fifty Shades of Grey."

In the second movie of the trilogy, Steele rejects billionaire Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) offer to work for him as an intern. Steele then finds a job at a publication house, where she meets Hyde, who is instantly attracted to her. Throughout the movie, Steele is trying to come to terms with Grey's need to have a dominant-submissive relationship. In "Fifty Shades of Grey," Steele chose to leave Grey after deciding that being the submissive in the relationship was not something she wanted. Movie producers revealed that the second movie will have a darker theme.

Rumors added that "Mad Max: Fury Road" star Charlize Theron will be casted as Elena Lincoln/ Mrs. Robinson, who was Grey's previous sexual dominant.

"Fifty Shades Darker" still does not have a director attached since Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the first movie, departed from the trilogy. There are rumors that the author of the book series, E.L. James wants to direct the film. However, Universal Studios is reportedly hesitant to hire James as the director.

"It's going to be someone new and the announcement will probably be made around July. They want a director who is not well known so they can keep the costs down and allow the studio and E.L. to get their way and their vision," a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the beginning of May.

The screenplay will be written by James' husband, Niall Leonard.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will hit theaters on Valentine's Day in 2017. Production for the film has not started.
