DeMarre Carroll's impressive season has caught the attention of the Los Angeles Lakers. According to the latest rumors, the Lakers are very interested in landing Carroll, who will become a free agent in July.

Before signing a two-year deal worth $5 million with the Atlanta Hawks in 2013, Carroll played for four different teams and was never a dominant force on the court. During his time with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz, Carroll never averaged more than 6.0 points per game.

Once he jointed the Hawks, Carroll became a different player. During the 2014-15 regular season, he averaged 12.6 points with 5.3 rebounds. His improvement has garnered the attention of several teams looking to rebuild this offseason, particularly the Lakers.

The Lakers finished one of their worst seasons in franchise history with a 21-61 record. Despite the horrible season, the Lakers won big at the NBA draft lottery. They landed the No. 2 pick and will most likely draft a big man. The top picks include Jahlil Okafor and Karl-Anthony Towns. With one of these two picks combined with a healthy Julius Randle and Carroll, the Lakers would ideally be set.

"With his defense and versatility, one league exec estimated his next deal at more than $15m per year. The Lakers, a source said, have big-time interest in DeMarre Carroll," the Sporting News reported.

Carroll can also expect offers from several other teams, such as the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons.

Carroll's season is not over yet. The Hawks are currently trailing 3-0 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals.
