David Lynch revealed via Twitter that he will indeed be directing the "Twin Peaks" revival.

He tweeted, "Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem... It is !!! Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network."

Over a month ago, Lynch stated that he was leaving Showtime's nine-episode revival due to budget negotiations. At that time, Lynch reportedly was not happy with the limited budget for the script and decided against directing the show.

He said back on April 5, "After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done. This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime. I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently."

Once Lynch departed from the project, many believed that the revival was not going to happen. However, it seems like the show is pack on for real this time.

Showtime president David Nevins confirmed the return of Lynch.

Nevins said, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing, which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!"

Kyle MacLachlan, who played Special Agent Dale Cooper, was also ecstatic that Lynch has signed on.

The "Twin Peaks" revival was originally scheduled for a 2016 release. The current timetable for the series is unknown.
