Apple's research in the medical field has been persistent. Apple aims in bringing maximum utility of the iDevices for medical professionals.

The recently launched 'Research Kit' software framework aimed to make iDevices friendlier to medical professionals.

On the other hand, the company also aims to make its devices useful for people who intend to use it to fetch their medical requirements.

The Apple Watch has also been a brilliant gadget as it is capable of calculating the heart beat, the number of steps and distance covered, calories burned and so on, and thus calls itself to be a fitness gadget.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers and Apple are said to be working on a project that aims to develop apps that will help users to get their genes tested to determine their health conditions on their iPhones.

The iPhone shall not take a living sample of the DNA for the test. However, the app will have certain pre-determined conditions and the users will have to enter his medical reports.

This will help the app to compare the reports with some standard data and findings by scholars, and could help the user to understand if a condition is genetic.
