Google Nexus 9 Vs Apple iPad Mini 3: Important Differences Revealed in New Tablets

Google's Nexus 9 and Apple's iPad Mini3 has been competing head-to-head in the global market.

Both the tablets offer an excellent user experience with their extra-ordinary features and an elegant built quality. However, when given an option to choose any one, it is essential to compare both the tablets in terms of the hardware, software, media and many other features it offers the users.

Looking at the design of the tablets, the Nexus 9 houses its power button on the right hand edge of the device, whereas the iPad Mini 3 has a power button that lives up top. The volume control buttons are placed almost similar on both the tablets. However, the volume buttons on the iPad are much easier to access, than on the Nexus 9.

Audio is another design difference, while the iPad Mini 3 has speakers on the bottom edge of the device, the Nexus 9 has dual speakers, one at the very top of the device and one at the very bottom, both facing the user.

Looking at the display of the tablets, the Nexus 9 offers a 9-inch display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536. iPad Mini 3 offers a 7.9 inch display with 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. The screen resolution of both the tablets is quite reasonable for daily usage.

On the media side of the tablets, the Nexus 9 offers a 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash, while the iPad Mini3 offers a smaller 5 mega pixel camera

The Nexus 9 measure 8.99 inches tall, 6.05 inches across and has a thickness of 0.31 inches (7.95mm). The Nexus 9 is plat-formed on the latest version of Android 5+, and works on a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 2GB RAM and a 192-core Kepler Graphical Processing Unit (GPU).

The iPad Mini 3 measure 7.87 inches tall, 5.3 inches across and has a thickness of 0.28 inches (7.2mm). The iPad Mini 3 is plat-formed on iOS, and all the applications can be downloaded from the Apple Store, just like an iPhone. Users will have to have an Apple ID to access/ download more apps on the Apple Store.

The Nexus 9 is powered by a 6700mAh battery. While, the Apple iPad Mini 3 is powered by a 6350mAh battery. Both the tablets offer a good battery back-up.

Looking at the price of the tablets, the Google Nexus 9 by HTC comes in three variants and the prices are as follows:

3. 32GB LTE - $599

The Apple iPad Mini 3 also comes in three variants and is priced as follows:

1. 16GB - $399

2. 32GB - $499

3. 128GB - $599

4. Add $130 for cellular capability.

Looking at the specifications, and the price of both the tablets, the performance almost remains the same. However, looking at the compatibility of the tablets, the iPad Mini 3 goes more handy and comfortable.
