Google Now Price Card and Apple Watch Hotel App launched by Skyscanner

The Edinburgh based company has introduce two new applications, price alert system for Android users and an extension to its hotel app for the Apple Watch.

The Google Now card allows users to keep a track of the fluctuating flight prices, and receive instant alerts, in over 30 languages,.

Google cards are information boxes that come with Google App and can be placed on the home screen of the Android device. One the Skyscanner Flight app is installed, the user will have to select a particular route and link the app to Google cards. The user will receive notification on the Android device whenever there is a fluctuation in the prices. The users may also opt to receive alerts via e-mail.

Mary Porter of Skyscanner said: ""We know that our online price alerts feature is incredibly popular and this partnership with Google enables us to give people an alternative way to access our price alerts through the Google app on Android."

Further, Skyscanner has built a new app that helps users to locate hotels on their Apple Watch.

The users may search for a hotel and get information regarding the travel distance and the estimated travel time. In addition to this, users will also get information regarding the contact number and hotel address on the app.

The feature enables people to navigate to their hotel without having to have their iPhone highly visible as they walk in unfamiliar places.

Balint Orosz, head of apps product at Skyscanner, said: "For over a year now, our customers have been searching for their travel on their mobile devices more than on a desktop computer and this is a trend that is only set to continue."

The new feature is available to customers in the UK, US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan, and can be used anywhere in the world.
