Jared Leto is almost unrecognizable as the Joker.

"Suicide Squad" director David Ayer released the very first shot of the Oscar-winning actor in the role as the super villain on Friday night via Twitter.

In the picture, Leto bare arms and chest are covered with tattoos. On one arm, there is an image of the Joker's iconic smile and on the other arm, the words "HAHA" are written repeatedly. Leto's hands are running through his green hair as he screams.

Along with the image, Ayer tweeted, "The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad @WarnerBrosENT @DCComics."

The image has gotten fans more excited than ever for the upcoming movie, which is about a group of super villains who are given the opportunity by a secret government agency to "execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency," IMBD wrote.

The cast includes Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Walker and Scott Eastwood, whose role has not been announced yet. Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to be playing Lex Luther.

"Suicide Squad" comes out in theaters on August 5, 2016.
