You Can Buy OnePlus One Without Invite (At least for now)
OnePlus has announced that its smartphone, OnePlus One, will now be available via open sales. However, the next generation, OnePlus 2, will be offered through invitation model.
The OnePlus 2 will be launched in the third quarter.
"This current shift from an invite system to a non-invite system is a big step, one from which we will learn a great deal before the OnePlus 2 launch, with invites, in the third quarter of this year," Carl Pei, co-founder and head of global, OnePlus, said.
Discounts
The company also announced flat 50 percent discount on accessories - OnePlus JBL E1+ Earphones, OnePlus Flip Cover (White), OnePlus Premium Matte Screen Protector - along with the purchase of the OnePlus One until April 23, 2015.
Users in India can visit Amazon.in and choose one of the above add-one to their cart where the discounted price will be reflected upon check-out.
OnePlus 2 Specifications
According to GSMarena, OnePlus 2 will be a 4G smartphone with 5.5 inch full HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, Android KitKat operating system, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and 3 GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to come in 16GB and 64 GB storage options, but without any expandable slots.
OnePlus 2 will also feature a 16 megapixel rear camera with a 4 megapixel front camera.
