With the season over, the Detroit Pistons will begin reshaping their team for next year and according to the latest report, the Pistons will do whatever they can to keep Andre Drummond.

Pistons owner Tom Gores spoke with the press and all signs are pointing to a maximum contract offer. If the Pistons want to extend Drummond's rookie contract, they would have to agree to terms by Oct. 31. The max contact would then kick in after next season. The Pistons could also wait for the 21-year-old center to become a restricted free agent in 2016 and then match any offers he gets. However, based on Gores' comments, it looks like the Pistons will not wait.

"Andre's a maximum guy," Gores said. "He's a maximum guy. He's not only a great player, he's a great person."

Drummond, however, has not given much thought about any contract extension deals.

"I'm not really focused on that. It's in the back of my head, but I'm not really worried about it as of yet because there's so much time to really go into that," Drummond told the Detroit Free Press before the season ended. "I think, for now, I'm just going to continue to play my game, work on my body and just continue to play hard. We got up until the 31st of October. I'd love to be a Piston."

Drummond averaged 13.8 points with 13.5 rebounds - second in the league to Clippers DeAndre Jordan (15) - this season.

Gores added that he will also try to keep Greg Monroe in Detroit. Monroe, who played for $5.479 million this year, will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

"I'm sure we'll talk about it," head coach Stan Van Gundy said. "But my guess is the answer I'll get, and I'm sure it's a very honest one based on the way I've seen Greg act, is that he hasn't given a ton of thought to it right now. So that'd probably be a discussion for later on down the road, because Greg has stayed pretty focused."

In regards to hiring coach Van Gundy, Gores stated that he feels much better about that decision now than he did 11 months ago. Gores also said that he feels good about the team and their future playoff goals.

"I think we're ready. I feel it. I feel it. I feel like it's our time. Even though our record doesn't reflect it, I feel like we made a lot of progress this year, I really do," Gores said. "You know our goal, we want to win a championship and we want to take this thing forward. We're being very serious about this. We've probably got to bring some new guys in. But after our 5-23 start, I think we did OK."

The Pistons finished 32-50.
