Twitter is retiring the Discover Feature and replacing it with a revamped "Trends" section. The update, which has been initially pushed to official Twitter app for iOS and Android will let users see trending topics with a descriptive tweet.

Reportedly, the new format is set to English language and works exclusively for Twitter users in U.S. who have tailored trends activated for their accounts.

New Trends can be found by tapping on the Search tab.

Previously, the app presented a "Discover" tab in the nav panel which was simply a roster of latest topics from within one's network that Twitter deemed important to the account holder.

The new feature is more 'descriptive' compared to "Discover" tab.

"We know that trends aren't always self-explanatory, so now you'll see a description below each trend," wrote Gabor Cselle, Twitter's group product manager for Content and Discovery.

An extra description of the trending hashtag will give users a better context regarding the topics.

"As part of this change, we're moving trends to the search page and retiring #discover and activity for all iOS and Android users. We've been working to make content easier to find over the last several months in places like your home timeline - with recaps and Tweets from within your network - and through efforts like MagicRecs. We'll continue to make improvements like these in the future," the company noted in the blog post announcing the feature.
