Google is tearing into a recent Wall Street Journal article that claimed the company had gotten away with abusing its monopoly power, with a response that consisted playful animated GIFs.

In 2013, Federal Trade Commission decided not to sue Google over antitrust issues, but recently the Journal revealed that FTC investigators back then did actually feel that Google used abusive, anticompetitive tactics.

In a blog post yesterday, Google said the Journal's post was inaccurate.

"As the FTC made clear this week: "... the Commission's decision on the search allegations was in accord with the recommendations of the FTC's Bureau of Competition, Bureau of Economics, and Office of General Counsel" (something the Journal has chosen not to report)," the blog post noted.

The Journal also hinted Google's influence in the White House, counting 230 visits, but the company said engineers were busy fixing Healthcare.gov and discussing patent reform and self-driving cars.
