According to a poll conducted by Reuters, 47.5% of Americans said they were 'not at all interested' in the Apple Watch. 22.1% of the respondents reported being not "very" interested.

The survey conducted by the publication, from March 9 to 13 and consisted of 1,245 respondents. The poll asked respondents eight questions relating to their views on having/using a smartwatch and what they think of the Apple Watch.

Notably, only 25 percent of showed some interest. 6% of people said they weren't sure of what they think of the Apple Inc's upcoming smartwatch.

29% of the respondents said they would rather buy the Apple Watch than any other smartwatch while more than half disagreed over preferring Apple Watch over other smartwatches.

52% of respondents thought smartwatches are just a fad and would pass off. According to 43%, the smartwatch would get as common as the smartphone today.

As a matter of fact, 53.5% even said that they think wearables would replace smartphones.

Apple Watch would only work in conjunction with iPhone and 13% of 209 respondents said they would get an iPhone in order to be able to use the Apple Watch.

Evidently, these results hint Apple having hard time promoting the new gadget. It would be interesting to see how the company aims to market the product.
