The much anticipated launch of GTA V Online Heists turned into a major letdown for fans as connectivity issues bogged gameplay a day after launch.

According to IB Times, the sudden surge in traffic following the launch on March 10 unsettled the game's developer Rockstar's servers which forced the support team to rush to fix the issue. Players on all four platforms viz. Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS 3 and PS 4 had limited access as per last update.

"We have received reports of issues connecting to GTA Online and are currently investigating. Apologies for any inconvenience," Rockstar's support page reads after initial efforts caused services to resume.

Express reported players witnessing changes to character appearance and gender after the title update. Rockstar has suggested a fix by loading the game in story mode.

Some of the issues listed by IB Times include reset of driving, sending invites disabled, unable to spawn in apartment, Lester not working , PS3 Heist update keeps stalling, character changing from black to white and Heists Missions locked after update.

Online Heists for GTA V allows players to team up in fours and carry out heists in Los Santos and Blaine Counties.
