Taylor Swift is protecting one of her most priced assets that is a contributing factor to success, her legs. Sources said that the Shake It Off singer is getting those long, shapely legs insured with a hefty sum worth $40 million before she sets another world tour this coming May.

According to News.com.au, the award-winning songstress has availed of the plan to protect her legs from accidents and any career-threatening events during her world tour.

The songstress is also said to be 'embarrassed' in revealing the amount in public.

"It seems like a ludicrous sum, but if something was to happen to her legs, Taylor wouldn't be able to give her signature stage performances. She thought her legs were possibly worth a million. But $40 million shocked her. She's even a little embarrassed about it," a source told the National Enquirer as reported by News.com.au.

As reported by New York Daily News, her career, particularly her dancing, would be in trouble if her legs are put in danger.

"Her $200 million career would be in big trouble."

As of this week, Taylor's staff is said to be facilitating the paperwork to make the agreement with the insurance legal and final, as what the news source reported.

Taylor Swift is not the first celebrity to get an million dollar-worth of insurance plan to protect one's part of the body.

One can never forget how Jennifer Lopez insured her derriere for a million dollars. Australian singer, Kylie Minogue also did the same to her bottom as she insured it for £3million, Daily Mail said.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift received warm support for her decision in protecting her legs.

"Taylor Swift's income-generating capacity is hugely dependent upon her stage presence and thus her exceptional legs are indeed very likely worth millions of dollars of insurance," Underwriter Jonathan Thomas said in FEMAIL magazine.
