A new study shows that Americans are 58 times more exposed to dying of police shooting than terrorists, which is unlike what was previously thought.

While earlier, it had been thought that people are eight times more likely to be killed by police officers than terrorists, new official FBI data shows that might have been a "radical underestimation," according to sputniknews.

While there is no national requirement for police departments to provide information about police-related shootings, some stations give the information to the FBI, although it indicated that national averages underrepresented the people who are killed by police officers.

New information by the FBI shows that an average of 545, killed by US local and state law enforcement officers, were not included in their annual crime statistics that were shown for a decade.

Hence, from the official record-keepers who are trying to assess the number of unknown "law enforcement homicides," researchers found that about 928 were killed by the police every year--- more than the 383 as published earlier by the FBI.

The Washingtonblog reports that "You're Much More Likely to Be Killed By Brain-Eating Parasites, Texting While Driving, Toddlers, Lightning, Falling Out of Bed, Alcoholism, Food Poisoning, Choking On Food, a Financial Crash, Obesity, Medical Errors or "Autoerotic Asphyxiation" than by Terrorists."

The US Department of State puts the number of people killed by terrorists at 16 in 2013, which is the most recent year for which the data is available.

When you divide the average of the number of people killed by police with the number of American civilians (not in the army) killed by terrorists, you get an answer of 58. This shows that Americans are 58 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist.
