Daniele Watts, a talented African-American actress who starred in "Django Unchained", was detained briefly after being mistaken for a prostitute while she was kissing her white boyfriend in Hollywood.

Watts described the incident on her Facebook page last week. "Today I was handcuffed and detained (for) showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place," Watts wrote, referring to her boyfriend, Brian Lucas.

Lucas said, "He was asking me questions like: 'Who is she?' 'How do you know her?' 'Are you together?'"

The two have been dating for the past year and a half.

The incident in the 11900 block of Ventura Boulevard happened last Thursday in Studio City.

"Those cops could not stop me from expressing myself," Watts wrote via Facebook. "They could not stop the cathartic tears and rage from flowing out of me. They could not force me to feel bad about myself. Yes, they had control over my physical body, but not my emotions. My feelings. My spirit was, and still is FREE."

Although the couple say they were just kissing, TMZ is quoting witnesses who said the two were having sex in the car's front seat, in the middle of the afternoon, with the door open.

In newly released audio from the incident, the trouble escalates when Watts refuses to provide identification to the officer. "We're not doing anything. I'm on the phone with my dad, this is my boyfriend, this is a public place," Watts is heard saying.

"You know how many times the cops have been called just for being black? I'm just being really honest." "Who brought up the race card?" an officer replies. "I said nothing about you being black. I have every right to ask for your ID." "I have every right to say no, and if you'd like to demand it, you can take me down to the court office and I can make a scene about it," an irate Watts replies. "And you know what? I have a publicist and I work as an actor at [CBS Studios]. If you'd like my ID you can say I am resisting arrest."
