A rumored release date for the next installment in the Kingdom Hearts series of video games appears not to have any merit.

GameSpot reports that one of the game's voice actors accidentally said the game would be ready for release sometime in 2015, although this is not the case.

The mix up occurred when voice actor Bill Farmer was responding to fan questions via a back and forth on Twitter. Farmer said that all of the voice acting for KHIII had been completed. His mention of the game coming out sometime this year became hot news. This is because the last time that the game's developer Square Enix mentioned a release date, they only did so to say that any information regarding release dates was not correct.

The company has since said the same thing regarding Farmer's mistaken comments. It is not clear why Farmer thought the game would be released in 2015, but it seems to be due to the fact that all the game's voice acting has been recorded and completed.

Farmer plays a number of characters throughout the game, the most prominent of which is Goofy.

The Kingdom Hearts franchise launched March 28, 2002. It is a combination of two of the most loved cultural canons of the modern era. The game combines characters from the popular video game series Final Fantasy with famous characters from the films and cartoons of Disney.

Kingdom Hearts III will be released for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
